Several hundred FFA and 4-H members are disappointed following an announcement from The Santa Barbara County Fair. Fair officials voted this week to cancel the poultry show scheduled for the upcoming fair in July. The decision was made due to a current outbreak of Newcastle Disease. Not only is Newcastle is highly contagious and fatal to poultry, but it can also spread to humans, producing flu-like symptoms. Fair officials are currently looking for an alternative to the poultry show.
