County Board Of Supervisors Vote To Fund Homeess Project

The San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors looked at the pros and cons of funding for transitional housing in Grover Beach. The public comment portion of yesterday’s meeting lasted about three hours, raising concerns about traffic, crime and property values. In the end, the board approved the funding with a 3-2 vote. Supervisors Lynn Compton and Debbie Arnold voted no, while Supervisors John Peschong, Bruce Gibson, and Adam Hill all voted ‘yes.’ 2.6 million dollars of California grant money will be used to buy the Hillside Church property in Grover Beach, providing services for homeless and at-risk youth.
