Oil Workers Want Offshore Platforms Re-opened

Oil company workers and environmentalists debated the possibility of re-opening three offshore ExxonMobile platforms. The Hondo, Harmony and Heritage rigs stopped producing crude oil following the second largest oil spill in Santa Barbara County History back in 2015. ExxonMobil officials say they will apply the highest safety standards to ensure safe operations. But some environmentalists believe California needs to move toward clean energy. A 46 day public comment period is open until May 28.
