California Governor Gavin Newsom unveiled his 213.5 Billion dollar budget yesterday. His list of priorities included wildfire prevention, education, and homelessness. Roughly 150 million dollars in grants will be allocated to local governments for homelessness. Another 40 million will be designated for wildfires and natural disasters. And 60.5 million would be slated for K through 12 education. The Governor’s budget proposal now goes to state legislators. They have until June 15th to pass a budget or lose pay.
