A rally is going to take place before tonight’s Bureau of Land Management meeting at the Embassy suites. The Center for Biological Diversity has organized the rally to protest the Trump Administration’s proposed plan to open more than a million acres of California public lands for possible oil drilling and fracking. Last month the BLM released a draft of the plan that included opening public lands in several Central California counties including, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Ventura Counties. The rally is scheduled to take place at 5 p.m. at Embassy Suites. Several speakers, including SLO Mayor Heidi Harmon and Salud Carbajal, are slated to attend.
