SLO City Officials Plan To Save Millions Of Dollars

San Luis Obispo City Officials say they have a plan to wipe out 150 million dollars in unfunded CalPers obligations. The state pension fund for retired and current city employees was a major focus of the city’s budget plan. City officials have found ways to come up with 7.5 million dollars to help cover some of the costs related to the fund. According to the Tribune, the city plans to spend 32 million dollars over the next 10 years which will save 19 million dollars in interest payments alone.
