The woman accused of embezzling hundreds of thousands of dollars from a local church is due in court today. The San Luis Obispo County D.A.’s Office filed grand theft embezzlement charges against 51-year-old Claire Eastin back in November of last year. She allegedly stole more than 200,000 dollars from Life Community Church for six years. Prosecutors believe she was able to keep her activities secret for years because she was the churches primary bookkeeper during that time. Church officials say they have forgiven her and have moved on.
