San Luis Obispo City Council Delays All Electric Vote

The San Luis Obispo City Council’s plan to do away with natural gas appliances has been put on hold. Council members were ready to adopt an ordinance that would call for all new buildings within the city limits be all-electric, but a letter from a utility labor union expressed concerns about a potential conflict of interest by the city’s Vice Mayor. The matter will be sent to the Fair Political Practices Commission for review. It’s unclear how long the review will take. Until then, the final vote has been postponed.
