Parents with students in the Paso Robles school district are calling on the state to investigate the district’s finances. Several parents who attended this weeks school board meeting called for a state audit and wanted answers related to the district’s current 3 million dollar budget gap. The district’s financial problems are largely attributed to policies implemented during former superintendent Chris Williams’ tenure. Before a state audit can move forward, the district would have to pay for a private audit at a cost of 30-to-50,000 dollars.
