Firefighters Getting Upper Hand on California Wildfires

Calmer weather over the weekend helped firefighters throughout California get the upper hand on the wildfires burning throughout the state. The Maria fire, which broke out in Ventura county last week, was reported to be 70 percent contained. The Kincade fire blackened nearly 78,000 acres and destroyed at least 370 structures was reported to be 78 percent contained. The Easy fire in Ventura County and the Getty fire in Los Angeles, were also fully contained over the weekend. Mop up operations are currently underway. fire officials say while evacuations orders have been lifted the general public should avoid the burn areas.
