Federal Prison officials say 28 people have contracted the novel coronavirus at Lompoc federal prison. 23 inmates and 5 staff members have tested positive. Officials say inmate movements have been limited to reduce the spread of the virus and family visits have been restricted. According to KSBY, Lompoc prison ranks third highest in the number of inmates with COVID-19 in the country. So far, no cases of coronavirus have been reported at the Men’s Colony in San Luis Obispo.
