Back by popular demand, the Clark Center for the Performing Arts presents a hilarious new showcase of some of the best comedic talent in the country with the Best of the San Francisco Stand-Up Comedy Competition on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 8pm.
For more than two decades the San Francisco Stand-Up Comedy Competition has served as a major career springboard for many talented comedians including Robin Williams, Dana Carvey, Ellen DeGeneres and Dane Cook. The performance will feature the competition's 2012 Champion, Tony Baker as well as Laura Hayden, Danny Bevins and a special guest emcee.
Image removed by sender.Tony Baker was featured on the latest season of Comedy Central's "Stand Up Revolution" & is the 2012 winner of the prestigious San Francisco Comedy Competition. On stage, Tony talks about his life, particularly his childhood, his marriage, his children and his many phobias. He also brings witty and pretty absurd observational takes on animals, bugs and movies. Tony Baker's delivery technique has been described as a comedy version of smooth jazz.
Laura Hayden is like radioactive plutonium, calm exterior but explosive! Laura recently appeared on 'Stand Up In Stilettos' on TV Guide Network. In February, she is embarking on a month long comedy tour through the UK and this August, she will be returning to Scotland for the 4th year in a row, to participate in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Her solo show "I Didn't Mean to be a Virgin in the 80s'" has been a hit with everyone lucky enough to see it. Image removed by sender.
Danny Bevins has been called many things: juvenile delinquent, soldier, flight attendant, patient, husband and lately "disturbingly hilarious". The term that describes him best though is ...SMARTASS!His mouth has gotten him arrested, fined and fired from every job he's ever had, but for the last ten years it's propelled him to tour the world and perform on some of the most prestigious stages in comedy.
Don't miss the comedy event of the season with the Best of San Francisco Stand-Up Competition on March 16. This show may contain adult material and language.
