Hugh Rowland of course thinks that Ice Road Trucking is a lot more dangerous than Crabbing off the coast of Alaska.

Win a copy of Hugh Rowland’s book, simply by telling us what brand of cigarette’s he smokes in the comments section at this post. If you’re one of the first three with the correct answer you take home the book. Good Luck!

Texas has been convinced by a plan presented by commissioner Dan Beebe to stay in a 10-member Big 12. UT officials are expected to announce their decision to remain in the Big 12 as early as Monday. This would end a courtship between Texas and the Pac-10, which seemed to be a for sure thing Friday when Nebraska announced it was heading to the Big Ten and Colorado had a press conference with Larry Scott of the Pac-10. But as it became clear over the weekend that Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State appeared ready join the Pac-10 and Texas A&M appeared ready to join the SEC, Beebe was able to obtain assurances that a TV deal could be reached paying each of the 10 remaining members of the Big 12 between $14 million and $17 million. Under Beebe’s plan, schools would also be able to explore their own distribution platforms, including networks. Texas would not be able to pursue those options in the Pac-10, which is planning to launch a conference network in 2012 and would require schools to turn over all of their inventory. Check out more of the story at http://texas.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1094038

So it seems there will be no 16 team “Super Conference” next year as Texas decides to stay in the Big 12

The Minnesota Department of Human Rights filed “gender discrimination charges” against five Twin Cities bars. There problem. The department believes that the bars are violating the rights of men everywhere—by holding ladies’ night. “Gender-based pricing violates the Human Rights Act,” the commissioner tells the Star-Tribune, vowing to pursue every complaint received about on the matter. The state tried a similar crackdown back in 1994, but most bars shrugged and kept the cheap drinks flowing.

First off all, do men even feel discriminated against when it comes to “Ladie’s Night”? Girls have a great reason to go out to town and then recieve cheap drinks. The guy doesn’t even have to but the drinks on these nights! The bar does half of the job for you!

Minnesota Department of Human Rights, you guys are Dumbasses!
