Jeff and Jeremy talk to a couple callers about the possibilities surrounding Farmers Field

Plans have been in the works for a while now to build up a new NFL stadium in the City of Industry next to the Staples Center.  These plans have become a lot more real now that they have some financing behind them.  Farmer’s Insurance has purchased the naming rights to the stadium for $700 million dollars, meaning the stadium will be called, and this is for 30 years, Farmer’s Field.  Now I just don’t know about this.  Farmers Field? In LA? These people have been called a lot of things over the years, but “farmer” has never come up on the list in the 2nd most urban area in America.  Besides the name, there’s the whole other issue of the viability of a football team in LA. What do you think?

Here’s the proposed Farmers Field in the complex next to the Staples Center.
