Today we were talking about the biggest celebrities we’d ever met or had a conversation with.

Jeremy told his long-winded story about meeting Garth Brooks at the Staples Center in LA.

Apparently Garth told him what song he gets down with his wife to: it was fairly creepy sounding.

Listen to the guys call up Mayor Marx’s office and determine the winner to the bet!

So last week we made a bet about the number of people to show up to Mayor Marx’s dedication of the Madonna Inn Bike Path on Friday.  Jeff was positive that no more than 15 people would show up, so Jeremy and Brett took the over. This morning, we decided to give her office a call to find out the specifics, and Jeff wasn’t even close.  Our source said that after some people left, she took a head count of over 40 people at the event.  This means that come March Madness, Jeff will have to pay up on his losses and buy a pitcher of beer and food for each Jeremy and Brett the Intern at Firestone’s. That poor bastard.

Here’s a clip of the guys discussing Chuck’s baseball party.

Over the weekend, Charlie Sheen had a slew of ex-major league ballplayers, plus current Giants closer Brian Wilson, over to his pad to screen his old movie “Major League”. Now apparently this was a booze and drug-free event, allegedly, but it sounds like a kickass time, if not a terrible career move for these players. The whole situation got us pining for ’89 when Jeff and Jeremy were watching Major League at theaters and Brett the Intern was being born.

We got a little excited and a little nervous for Major League 4 which is apparently in the works. The movie is going to be centered around Wild Thing, if Sheen gets paid enough, and would hopefully be better than the last one. What do you think? Anyone out there excited for the franchise to continue?

Check out PKband.com to vote 5 stars for PK. While you’re there, like them on Facebook and Tweet about ‘em!

We had the guys from PK in the studio today to talk about their recent success. Here’s the first half of our interview!

Templeton’s very own PK is on Rolling Stone’s list of the 16 top unsigned bands in America. This is a ridiculously awesome feat in itself, but it’s possible that it could get a whole lot better. There is a voting system set up online (which I have embedded in the post above) for people to vote for their favorite of the 16 bands. The winner will get a record deal with Atlantic Records, a spot at Bonaroo, and the privilege the first unsigned band to grace the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. Please vote 5 stars for PK and get these SLO County natives this huge honor!

Here’s the second half of our interview with PK. Give them 5 stars using the widget above!

Here’s Jeff and Brett geeking out on Angry Birds while Jeremy just doesn’t get it.

Jeff was talking about his latest addiction that has been keeping him up until 4 am every night over the weekend, ruining his sleep schedule: it was the phenomenon of Angry Birds.  Once we got on the subject, we did a little research and realized that the game is infiltrating every possible platform from console video games to movies to even cakes! Yes cakes.  Watch in envy as this kid uses his playable Angry Birds birthday cake.

This morning we were graced by the presence of three members of Still Time, San Luis Obispo’s premiere local band.  Haircut, Pablo, and Nick came in with their guitars and hand and treated us to a kickass rendition of their song “Fresh Island Jam”. And damn, it was fresh.  Check out the video right here:

Here’s the Still Time guys playing “Stump the Band”.

After jammin’ for a bit, we decided to have some listeners call in and play “Stump the Band”. Well, it turns out that these guys aren’t much of a cover band. But that doesn’t mean they don’t friggin’ get down, so go see them tonight at SLO Brew! Jeff, Jeremy, and Brett the Intern will all be there so come say hi and buy us a beer!

Here’s Jeff, Jeremy, and Brett the Intern discussing the songs they hate to love to sing.

Yesterday, Jeff was out in the bullpen doing some work when he heard one of our fellow DJs playing “All Out of Love” by Air Supply over and over.  Now Jeff claims to hate this song, but after hearing it for the third time he wound up belting out “I’M SO LOST WITHOOOUT YOUUUU!” and began questioning both his musical tastes and his sexuality.  But really, we all do it. Brett the Intern found himself singing along with Creed’s “Higher” and Jeremy is always singing lame ass songs he lies about not liking.  Is it possible that we all actually like the terrible songs that get stuck in our heads? Or is it just that these songs are infectious and designed to crawl into your brain and stay there? Let us know by answering our poll question over at kzoz.com!

Here’s the guys discussing the odds of anybody coming to today’s rainy day dedication.

Today the recently paved bike path next to Madonna Mountain is going to be dedicated by Jan Marx in one of her first official acts as mayor of San Luis Obispo.

The discussion becomes an argument as some listeners call in with their opinions on the bet.

Now, it’s a pretty sweet path, but we’re more interested in how many people are gonna show up to the thing. The forecast shows for over an inch of rain an hour, so Jeff is thinkin’ that less than 15 people are gonna show up.  Brett and Jeremy took the over on this one, regardless of the rain with the winner getting a Firestone tri-tip and a pitcher of beer.  Now, we had a pretty huge argument over the whole thing, which all boiled down to whether or not the bet should be on if the event is cancelled because of the weather.  The decision was ultimately made by callers, but you can hear the whole heated discussion in the audio clips!

Now at this point I can’t believe there wasn’t a fist fight. But the callers resolved the issue: the bet stands!

Here’s the brief saga of Miguel Cabrera as discussed by Jeff and Jeremy.

Miguel Cabrera was out in Florida over the past few days working on his tan when he ran into some trouble.  A Florida state police officer found Cabrera’s car pulled over with the engine smoking on the side of the highway. When the cop went to check it out, Cabrera, who was obviously hammered drunk, took a swig out of a bottle of Scotch right in front of him.  The cop tried to arrest him for drunk driving when Miggy jumped into the road in front of other cars with his hands up yelling “F*** YOU!) at the officer.  Eventually the officer had to drive 3 or 4 knee spikes into Cabrera’s thigh.  Oh Miguel, you poor drunk son of a bitch.  Looks like you might be skipping Tiger’s spring training and heading with Charlie Sheen to some UCLA baseball games.

Here’s Brett’s best Dio impression. Yea, it’s pretty bad.

Get ready for CCRD’s next bout this Saturday at the Paso Event Center! It’s a Derby Double Header! See the SLO Slammers as they take on the West Coast Derby Knockouts from Ventura and join the SK805 Army in cheering on Team SK805 as they battle the Berkeley Resistance from Bay Area Derby Girls.  Doors open at 4pm and games kick off at 5 and 7:30.  Make sure you get there early to catch Brett the Intern’s band Killa Gorilla.  It was decided on the air today that they will be doing a cover of “Holy Diver” by Ronnie James Dio, and you can hear a clip of that in the audio above.  Let us know in the comments or on the Jeff and Jeremy Facebook page if you have any other suggestions for covers.  Come out to Paso this Saturday and check it out!
