We had a good ol’ fashioned debate on the air today about the Smart Readers being installed by PG&E. Consumer Advocate Judy Vick called in and gave us an outrageous amount of information on the potential negative effects of these readers and the EMF (Electro Magnetic Fields) waves that they produce. You can find more information on the topic at the EMF Safety Network website here.
In rebuttal, we talked to PG&E spokesperson Kory Raftery. He gave us some stats that says the readers are much less harmful than even cell phones. Obviously you can get more information on this side of the argument by visiting the PG&E website here.
