The man who pleaded no contest to five felony counts related to brutally attacking his girlfriend in 2015 is now serving his time in San Luis Obispo County Jail. 33-year-old Ryan Joseph Wright, formerly Ryan Petetit had repeatedly made efforts to serve his time at a so-called, “pay-to-stay” facility in Santa Ana because he claimed his life would be in danger at the San Luis Obispo County Jail. He was taken into custody yesterday and will serve the next 270 days at the County jail. According to the Tribune, he’s likely to serve half of that due to various automatic credits afforded to all California county jail inmates.
