Bakersfield Man Arrested In SLO For Vehicle Theft

San Luis Obispo Police arrested a Bakersfield man they believe is connected to a one-day crime spree. According to investigators, it started Tuesday when a bicyclist was involved in a hit and run accident at Broad and Higuera. A witness was able to give police a description of the vehicle and license plate number. The car turned out to have been reported stolen earlier in the day. Yesterday, police answered a call about a man acting suspiciously near Monterey and Santa Rosa. Officers made contact with 26-year-old Justin Mendoza, who was wanted for a parole violation in Bakersfield and matched the suspect description from Tuesday’s incidents. He’s currently being held without bail.
