Car Chase Has Fatal End

A car chase that crossed county lines over the weekend came to a fatal end yesterday morning. According to the Kings County Sheriff’s Office, a CHP pursuit began in San Luis Obispo County near Paso Robles. At around 7 p.m. Officers requested backup from Kings County. After the pursuit was terminated, the suspect confronted CHP officers “while wearing a tactical vest and armed with a firearm.” According to the Tribune, Kings County Sheriff’s Office Crisis Resolution Team negotiated with the suspect for more than 10 hours until he fired at least one round at officers. The suspect would be pronounced dead at the scene.
