Child abuse cases during the pandemic are on the rise in Santa Barbara County. According to CASA, the child advocacy group is seeing the largest number of reported child abuse cases in the past 10 years. KEYT reports that CASA served 532 children. Now, 156 children are on a waiting list for a CASA advocate. Officials say volunteers are desperately needed and hope to increase the number of volunteers soon, as more cases are expected in the coming months.
