As many of us get ready to hit the road over the next few weeks for Christmas and New Year’s… Gas prices are inching down. In the past week, the official nationwide average price of regular unleaded has gone down another penny to 2-56 a gallon. The Energy Department reporting though that’s still 14 cents higher than a year ago at this time. The cheapest gas is along the Gulf Coast at 2-30 a gallon… The most expensive in California at 3-59 a gallon for regular unleaded. The average for San Luis Obispo County is roughly 3.90 a gallon and about 3.80 for Santa Barbara County.
