Not A Happy Ending For Shooting Suspect

San Luis Obispo County Sheriff Ian Parkinson said the death of Paso Robles shooting suspect Mason Lira yesterday “was not a happy ending,” and not what his Office wanted. Parkinson said, “We wanted him to turn himself in, we wanted the family to turn himself. We wanted a peaceful ending to this. That is not our job to pronounce sentence.” Four officers were injured during the two-day shooting spree. A homeless man was also allegedly shot to death by Lira. While investigators continue to search for a motive, his father says Lira suffered from a number of mental issues.
