A petition by a local group is demanding the largest school district in San Luis Obispo County to make major changes. According to KSBY, The Central Coast Organization on Racial Injustice has now created a petition aimed at making students and staff feel more comfortable on campuses in the Lucia Mar School District. Those changes range from improving the social studies curriculum to having better hiring practices and training for staff. District officials say they have formed an Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion group to develop short and long term programs within the district.
