The Las Vegas Raiders’ have placed star tight end Darren Waller on the injured reserve. Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Waller recently aggravated his hamstring injury, which he has battled since Week 5, and the Las Vegas medical staff believes four weeks on the injured reserve gives Waller the necessary time to get healthy and finish the season with the team.  Said Schefter: “Raiders are placing TE Darren Waller on injured reserve, per source. Waller aggravated his hamstring injury and the team believes this will give him four weeks to get it healthy and come back to finish the season.”  Second-string tight end Foster Moreau will continue to fill in for Waller amid his injury absence.

The Raiders (2-6) signed Waller to a three-year, $51 million contract extension in September. The tight end has 16 catches and 175 yards with one touchdown in five games for the Raiders this season. He totaled 55 catches for 665 yards and two scores in 11 games last season. and logged a career-high 107 catches for 1,196 yards and nine scores in 16 starts in 2020.

The Raiders will host the Indianapolis Colts (3-5-1) at 4:05 p.m. EST Sunday in Las Vegas.
