The Santa Maria Branch of The Salvation Army needs your help. Officials say they are in desperate need of donations in order to fill the needs of hungry families in the area. They add that food is going out just as fast as it’s coming in. On a normal day the Salvation Army serves about 120 lunches a day, but during the summer months, that number can reach closer to 200. The organization accepts all types of donations, although checks or cash are preferred because they are able to buy in bulk.
