Southern California Wildfire

Up to 10 major fires fires burned across southern California yesterday — but firefighters appear to have made good progress against the big one. The Easy fire as it’s being called quickly scorched over 1600 acres yesterday north west of Los Angeles, in Simi Valley — fueled by hurricane force winds and low humidity — surprisingly, though, most of what burned was brush, only one home was lost, and firefighters were able to save the Ronald Reagan library. Thousands will remain under mandatory evacuation orders, as the strong winds are expected to continue today.
