Target Shooting In Los Padres Still Banned

Target shooting in Los Padres National Forest will continue to be banned, at least, for the foreseeable future. Last year, a lawsuit filed by Santa Barbara-based conservation group Los Padres Forest Watch alleged violations by the U.S. Forest Service of the National Forest Management Act and the Endangered Species Act from unregulated target shooting in the Los Padres National Forest. The ban targets informal, unmanaged shooting sites within the Los Padres National Forest. Anyone cited for violating the ban will face fines up to 5,000 dollars and or six months in jail.
