Voters May Choose Bond Measure For Affordable Housing

A bond measure designed to raise funding for affordable housing could be headed to the November 2020 ballot. The San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors has directed staff to conduct a feasibility study for a bond measure that could raise 40 million dollars over the next decade. According to the Tribune, it would collect $5 for every $100,000 in assessed home value from existing homeowners. Voters in Alameda and Santa Clara counties approved a similar measure while San Jose and Santa Rosa voters rejected such a measure.
