Record heat and smoke from the state’s wildfires has prompted an Air Quality Alert for the Central Coast. Both Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties Air Quality Control districts say the air in our areas will be unhealthy for sensitive people through the weekend. Air District officials recommend that if you smell smoke or see ash, take precautions, and use common sense to reduce your exposure to smoke by heading indoors, and avoid strenuous outdoor activity.
