Surf Nite in SLO – Fremont Theater – Fri 4/25 – With drinks in the lobby, live music from Riff Tide, and mingling with other local surfers, join us for what’s been coined the “Rocky Horror Picture Show” for surf and film lovers! This year, we’re shaking it up a bit and excited to present three short films, CREATURES OF HABIT, MAKING WAVES: THE LAKEY PETERSON STORY, and NØ WAY.

SKATEGOAT Feature Film: Leandre Sanders was born into a world of gangs and crime, but skateboarding became his escape. Instead of following in his family’s footsteps, Leandre spent his days at the skate park with his younger brother, honing his skills from a young age. Stay after the screening for a discussion moderated by Dan Parks of Unearthed Skateboarding and Loose Bearings Artwork with pro skaters Leandre Sanders and Chico Brenes, Skate Director Aaron Meza, along with SKATEGOAT director, Van Alpert.
AGAINST THE CURRENT Documentay Short: delves into the artistic journey of legendary skateboarder and filmmaker Stacy Peralta. It celebrates creativity and commitment as Stacy reflects on his childhood inspirations, the challenges of developing his unique visual style, and his deep connection to his skateboard collection, which holds the memories of the past.
SLO FILM FEST Closing NIght: COASTAL – Fremont Theater – Tue 4/29 – Film Awards plus a screening of Daryl Hannah’s newest documentary following Neil Young’s solo tour, COASTAL. Both will be in attendance for a post film audience driven Q&A hosted by Suzanne.
