California Governor Gavin Newsom has made it clear that he will be taking California cities to task if they do not comply with the state’s affordable housing push. Pismo Beach is currently the only San Luis Obispo County city NOT in compliance. City officials say there are currently no large pieces of property to develop, adding that the city is located between the Pismo Preserve and the Pacific Ocean. Pismo Beach also has roughly 3.5 million dollars in funding for affordable housing to be built, but officials say they can’t find developers who are interested.
