Supervisors Discuss Five Cities Homeless Proposal

The San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors will be tackling the idea of using a Grover Beach Church for homeless services. Five Cities Homeless Coalition and People’s Self-Help Housing have proposed a concept that would put transitional youth and permanent housing for the homeless at Hillside Church. Neighbors in the area have taken to putting signs in their yards that read “Right Idea, Wrong Location”. The Board’s Homeless Services Oversight Council has recommended that the Board of Supervisors fund 2.6 million dollars of the proposed project. The meeting takes place this morning at the County Government Center starting at 9.
