Central Coast strawberry farmers gathered yesterday for the annual Santa Maria Strawberry Field Day. The event was hosted by the University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources department. It included a number of speakers, covering topics that included, soil and water management, sustainable growing methods, and pesticides and fumigation. Strawberry Field Day is an annual event that helps keep farmers up to date on the industry’s latest research and growing techniques.
