Northern San Luis Obispo County residents may see and smell smoke over the next few days. Cal Fire SLO says it will have about 45 firefighters training in wildland fire fighting techniques at Camp Roberts. Officials say the firefighters will gain in-depth knowledge of ignition tools, equipment, techniques, and strategies, as well as how weather, fuels, and topography affect fire behavior. The training burns started yesterday and are expected to continue through tomorrow, weather permitting.
