The decommissioning of PG&E’s Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant is roughly six years away, but the San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors says it should happen as soon as possible. Board members said at yesterdays meeting that they wanted to be the lead agency in the process and would like to see the property restored to its natural state. They also voted to continue funding emergency response during the closing procedures.
