Santa Maria Fire investigators say the fire that swept through a popular restaurant and furniture store was the work of an arsonist. Santa Maria Fire officials announced yesterday that the blaze that destroyed Shaw’s Steakhouse and Sergio’s Furniture and Mattress was intentionally set. The fire burned for hours. When firefighters got the flames put out, only the exterior walls standing. Sergio’s Furniture relocated to the Santa Maria Town Center and Shaw’s Steakhouse is in the process of rebuilding. The investigation is ongoing.
