Governor Says Power Outages Avoidable

The lights are off around the Bay Area as PG& E continues its preventative outages amid high winds and wildfire fears. Governor Gavin Newsom is not mincing any words as he lays out his anger at Pacific Gas and Electric for shutting off the power to hundreds of thousands in Northern California. Newsom said “It was unnecessary. They’re in bankruptcy because of their terrible management going back decades.” Those whose power has been out since early yesterday morning are losing food in their freezers – and again today many stores and shops will be closed.
