CMC Sewage Spill Affects Creek And Beach

A sewage spill from the California Mens Colony in San Luis Obispo dumped thousands of gallons of semi-treated sewage into a nearby creek. San Luis Obispo County public health department officials say it happened at around 10:15 yesterday morning. Equipment failure caused roughly 33,000 gallons of secondary treated sewage to be released. The leak was stopped but not before reaching Chorro Creek. People are advised to stay clear of the creek and a beach in Morro Bay where the creek flows into the ocean.
