Auto Shop Owner Pleads Guilty On Tax Charges

The owner of a San Luis Obispo auto repair and body shop has pleaded guilty to a federal criminal tax charge. The IRS says John Villa failed to pay employment taxes over two years totaling more than 489,550 dollars. As part of a plea agreement, Villa pleaded guilty to a single charge of willful failure to pay employment taxes. According to an IRS press release, he’s facing a maximum of five years in federal prison and a 250,000 dollar fine when he’s sentenced in February.
