Morro Bay Passes Ordinance To Help Renters

Cities up and down the state of California have been passing urgency ordinances to help protect renters from possible huge year-end rent increases. This week, Morro Bay became the latest city to join the effort. The City Council unanimously approved an ordinance that prevents landlords from taking advantage of a legal loophole ahead of a new state rent cap law that goes into effect on Jan. 1, 2020. San Luis Obispo and Grover Beach have similar ordinances in place.
