Cleaner, Cheaper Electricity For San Luis Obispo And Morro Bay

San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay became the first cities on the Central Coast to take steps toward a cleaner, renewable energy while lowering residents’ energy bills. They’re doing it through a program called community choice energy. Monterey Bay Community Power, a nonprofit electricity provider will be providing power from solar and wind using PG&E’s infrastructure. Customers will see more information about the program in their bills. Officials say they should also see a reduction in the amount due. Arroyo Grande, Grover Beach, Paso Robles, Pismo Beach, and Santa Maria plan to begin the program next year.
