New Claims Against Dive Boat Operator In Deadly Fire

New claims in cases against owners of the Conception – the dive boat that caught fire last year off the coast of Santa Barbara killing 34 people. In lawsuits, multiple families of victims who were onboard the Conception argue that Truth Aquatics, the owner of the boat had a practice of not utilizing a night watchman and that steps weren’t taken to prevent lithium ion battery fires. Attorney Jeff Goodman claims there are numerous ways that a responsible company can make sure that this doesn’t occur. The new filings come after the owners of the boat filed to limit their liability to pay victims under a maritime law from 1851.
