A former Lyft driver from Lompoc was sentenced yesterday. Jason Lamont Fenwick was convicted last month for sexually assaulting an intoxicated ride-share customer. He picked the victim up after her boyfriend had been arrested for DUI. He was sentenced to 10 years in state prison. 2019 saw three similar ride share assault cases in San Luis Obispo and Northern Santa Barbara Counties. According to the Tribune, Alfonso Alarcon-Nunez, a former Uber driver, is accused of raping five women in San Luis Obispo County. He goes to trial later this year.
