Today is Hunger Awareness Day, and the SLO Food Bank needs your help. Demand has dramatically increased during the COVID-19 pandemic. An increasing number of Central Coast residents are finding themselves food insecure, not knowing where their next meal may be coming from. The SLO Food Bank officials say they service about 1,000 households and distribute between 35-and-40,000 lbs of food every week throughout the community.
