Former San Luis Obispo resident and convicted murderer Scott Peterson has been named, in what California officials call one of the biggest fraud(s) of taxpayer dollars in California history. Investigators say inmates at California’s prisons and jails have filed hundreds of millions of dollars worth of fraudulent unemployment claims since the beginning of the pandemic. Peterson is just one inmate among murderers, rapists, child molesters, and death row inmates who filed for unemployment. The investigation is ongoing.
