Feds Suing California Over Environmental Impacts

The federal government has sued California over water policies it says violate state environmental protections. The lawsuit filed Thursday in Sacramento federal court seeks to block a plan to increase river flows in the San Joaquin River and three tributaries to help revive dwindling salmon populations. The U.S. lawsuit said the plan was arbitrary and the state failed to analyze impacts on the environment.
