Pismo Beach has banned smoking in a number of new public spaces in an effort to improve the city’s tobacco control policies. According to a press release, the ban includes outdoor dining areas and several major sidewalks around town. Bus stops, unenclosed workplaces, spots in front of ATMs and other service areas and entryways for various buildings including health care facilities, child care facilities and senior centers are included in the new ban. The ban includes smoking cannabis and vaping. It goes into effect this Thursday.
