Paso Robles is understaffed when it comes to officers in the Paso Robles Police Department. Chief Ty Lewis told the Paso Robles city council yesterday during a presentation of a 2019 strategic plan, that his department was currently in need of 20 officers. He also highlighted that response times were averaging 15 minutes. Chief Lewis says the Paso Robles Police Department needs about 52 trained officers, adding that it would take about 3 years to get to that level.
