A San Luis Obispo care facility is facing a wrongful death lawsuit. According to the suit filed in San Luis Obispo Superior Court, 85-year-old Kathleen Hutchinson was a patient at Bella Vista Transitional Care. She suffered from dementia, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and diabetes. Her family says She died in April 2018 after allegedly being over-medicated with medicine used to control her blood sugar levels. The suit also claims Bella Vista was understaffed at the time of Hutchinson’s death. A claim facility officials disagree with.
