You’ll be hearing more and more about wildfire prevention this week. Yesterday kicked off Wildfire Preparedness Week across California. As the green hills start to turn golden, the possibility of a wildfire in the area increases. Abundant winter rains helped the grasses grow. Now those grasses are turning into fuel for possible wildfires. Cal Fire SLO and local fire departments are reminding all residents of the dangers posed by wildfires. Fire officials stress creating defensible space around your home and have an evacuation plan.
